Livestock Farming For Milk Production
In the world, about two-third of the people engaged in agriculture depend partially or completely on live-stock farming. Not only that it adds up to the income through milk, meat and manure, but also it provides an economic stability since their products can be used to aid in agricultural activities. In India, milk is one of the leading agricultural produce, contributing about 9% to GDP of India.\r\nFrom time immemorial, Milk is considered as a symbol of eternal bondage between mothers and offspring since it can be assured as the purest food for the survival of new-born. This makes milk and milk products precious and indispensable in diets. A variety of products belonging to the community of milk and milk molecules are now available in the market .This makes the farmers eye into the future by adopting policies where in tradition blends with technology. \r\nIndia rates one among the top milk producers of the world and proudly possesses the world’s best milch buffaloes and goats. Even some of the indigenous breeds of cattle are drought tolerant and of superior quality. Some of the policies adopted by the Govt. of India include popularizing live stock farming, providing subsidiaries to the farmers and above all, improvising on the quality of the livestock through genetic engineering technology.
